How does Collection Africa manage recoveries?
All files forwarded to Collection Africa are managed by a specialised Debt Management Software System that records, tracks and monitors each debt to its final conclusion.
The Debt Management System is programmed to systematically enforce recovery whilst ensuring that the debtor is provided every opportunity to resolve their financial obligations within a prescribed time scale.
Once a debt is recorded into the Debt Management System, it cannot be edited, deleted or circumvented until the outstanding debt is finally resolved
Who physically manages the debt accounts?
Collection Africa's Account Managers are highly trained professionals whose task is to assist you or your company to repay your outstanding financial obligations in order to avoid losing your credit standing in the business community, nationwide
Account Managers administrate full and scheduled payment plans and resolve any valid disputes whilst tracking and monitoring the progress of independent legal firms used, as required, to recover debt through legal action.

What is a scheduled payment plan?
In the event that you cannot pay your outstanding debt in full, you can apply to your Account Manager to pay in fixed monthly installments.
This facility is called a 'Scheduled Payment Plan'.
A small file management fee may be charged to cover the administration of the plan

What if the account is disputed?
Your Collection Africa Account Manager will assist you in resolving any valid disputes.
However, Collection Africa's policy requires that all disputes
MUST be received in writing and
RESOLVED WITHING 30 DAYS.
In the event of a valid dispute, your Account Manager works on your behalf to resolve any issues that may be impending settlement of the account at no cost to you!

Why can't I pay directly to the original creditor?
At the commencement of the recovery process, Collection Africa has either been assigned the outstanding debt or has been appointed and agent of the creditor in the recovery process.
In either case, Collection Africa in managing the updating of your credit file.
Consequently, in the event that you do not remit payments directly to Collection Africa, you risk not having your credit file updated reflecting such payments.

What happens if I refuse to pay the debt?
In the unlikely event that you or your company do not respond positively to the repayment notice, you will be declared a 'delinquent debtor'.
As a delinquent debtor, your credit file held by a credit reference bureau will be annotated with an 'Adverse Credit Rating' for a period of
SEVEN years.
This can seriously and my almost immediately affect your ability to obtain or, in certain circumstances, even retain credit facilities amongst credit grantors such as banks, credit card companies, service and manufacturing organisations, nationwide.
Furthermore, you may be sued in a court of law for the amount outstanding plus all of the associated collection costs, which can be very expensive
